France’s national postal service operator La Poste has been named a partner of Uefa Euro 2016 ahead of the country’s hosting of the national team football tournament.
La Poste becomes a national sponsor and official service provider for postal, parcel and express delivery services for the tournament, which takes place from June 10 to July 10 next year.
The operator will be responsible for delivering 2.5 million match tickets to fans around the world. La Poste will also release a series of special-issue stamps for the tournament and will sell official Euro 2016 merchandise in its outlets nationwide.
In addition, tournament organisers will team up with La Poste to launch a website, which will provide fans with the latest ticketing information. It will be launched on December 12, the date of the draw for the championships.
“With its network of 17,000 sales outlets, La Poste will engage with all fans nationwide,” Jacques Lambert, president of the Euro 2016 organising committee, said.
Ireland (pictured) became the latest country to qualify for Euro 2016 on Monday evening, defeating Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0 in Dublin to complete a 3-1 aggregate win in the play-offs.
