Professional services firm KPMG has extended its title sponsorship of the Women’s PGA Championship by agreeing fresh terms with the PGA of America and Ladies Professional Golf Association.
KPMG will continue to back the tournament – one of five majors in women’s golf – through to its 2023 edition. The Championship is a revamp of the LPGA Championship and the deal to bring KPMG on board in May 2014 also brought together the LPGA and PGA of America as partners in the tournament.
This week, the Championship celebrates its third consecutive partnership year between KPMG, the PGA of America and the LPGA at Olympia Fields (Illinois) Country Club. Canada’s Brooke Henderson (pictured, right) is the defending champion.
Through KPMG’s continued backing, the Championship’s prize purse will increase from $3.5m (€3.12m) to $3.65m when it heads to Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Illinois in 2018. Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota will be the host site in 2019.
KPMG will continue to host the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit on-site during Championship week, which brings together top leaders in business, politics, sports, and the media to inspire the next generation of women leaders.
The extension also continues a shared commitment to give back through the KPMG Future Leaders Program, an ongoing charitable initiative funded by proceeds from the Championship and Summit.
The KPMG Future Leaders Program affords top female high school seniors across the United States the opportunity to access college scholarships, a leadership development retreat at Stanford University, a mentoring relationship with a woman business leader, and an introduction to golf.
