Professional services firm KPMG has agreed a deal to sponsor the Hong Kong T20 Blitz cricket tournament, the 2018 edition of which got underway today (Tuesday).
KPMG will serve as the lead sponsor of the event, which runs until February 11 at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.
KPMG will seek to grow the Blitz as a platform to promote and establish Hong Kong as a centre for major cricket events.
"It's great that a globally recognised brand like KPMG have come on board to support the growth of the Hong Kong T20 Blitz," Cricket Hong Kong director Jonathan Cummings said.
"The tournament is getting bigger and bigger each year and with KPMG are behind us we can push further on promoting Hong Kong as a centre for innovative major sports events. KPMG were supporters of the event last year so it's great to strengthen the partnership as we look towards a long-term agreement in future."
The 2018 Hong Kong T20 Blitz marks the third edition of the tournament, which features a mix of homegrown players and international stars. Darren Sammy (pictured), who has captained the West Indies to two T20 World Cup titles, is among the players competing at this year’s event.
