Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket franchise Kings XI Punjab has named water purification company Kent RO as its new main sponsor.
The length of the agreement was not disclosed but it will at least cover the 2018 IPL season, which runs from April 7 to May 27.
As part of the deal, Kent RO’s branding will feature on the front of Kings XI’s shirts.
Kent RO replaces Indian bicycle manufacturer Hero Cycles as the team’s main sponsor. Hero partnered with the team ahead of the 2017 IPL.
The InsideSport website, citing sources familiar with the deal, said the Kent RO partnership is worth around 35 to 40 per cent more than the Hero agreement.
Other brands that have signed on as shirt sponsors of the team for this season include Royal Stag, Fena and Lotus Herbals.
Kings XI’s team for the 2018 IPL season includes R Ashwin, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch and Andrew Tye.
