The ownership group of the Sacramento Kings NBA basketball franchise has agreed a marketing partnership covering the 2014 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Under the partnership between Sacramento Basketball Holdings and the Sacramento Sports Commission, Kings sales and marketing staff will work with the SSC to drive ticket sales, premium hospitality and sponsorship revenue.
“We are excited to partner with the Sacramento Sports Commission because we share their vision of Sacramento as a great sports destination,” Sacramento Kings president Chris Granger said. “One of the core values of our NBA 3.0 philosophy is to support and elevate the local community, and we see this as a prime opportunity to help showcase the business and economic opportunities Sacramento has to offer.”
Held at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium from June 25-29, the 2014 Championships represent the return of track and field to Sacramento with the first major US meet since the 2004 Olympic Trials. A successful Championship this summer will help ensure the return of the Championships in 2017, which will be a qualifying year for USA’s World Championship team.
Last month the Kings signed an agreement with the US Ski and Snowboard Association, the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding, under which it will serve as a sales agent for the Sprint US Grand Prix, the USSA’s major US Snowboarding and US Freeskiing event programme.
