The UK division of Korean automotive company Kia has extended its partnership with English County Championship cricket club Surrey, through which it will continue to hold naming rights to the Oval, the team’s home stadium.
The new three-year deal will run until the end of 2020. Kia’s branding will feature on advertising boards and stands around the Oval as part of the continued agreement.
Kia will also retain its position as the primary sponsor of the club, as well as the Surrey Stars women’s team.
The Kia Oval is one of the main international venues in English cricket and will stage its 100th Test match in July when England takes on South Africa.
Kia’s partnership with Surrey began in 2011. Simon Hetherington, commercial director of Kia Motors UK, said: “The relationship with Surrey CCC has been a great one for us, especially the link with the iconic Oval. As our brand moves dramatically forward in the motoring world it makes sense to extend our relationship with Surrey as the club looks to challenge for top cricketing honours once again.”
