Major League Baseball franchise the Kansas City Royals has announced a host of new and extended partnerships to coincide with the start of the 2016 season.
Academy Sports + Outdoors will remain the club’s official sporting goods retailer, while the Bats Stock Exchange has also extended its long-running association with the Royals for another season.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Chevrolet & the Kansas City Chevy Dealers, and Edelman & Thompson have all renewed their partnerships with the club, with the latter retaining its status as presenting sponsor of the Royals Charities raffle event at Kauffman Stadium, the Royals’ home ground.
KCP&L will continue as the official power partner of the Royals, while Midwest Ford Dealers, Smithfield Foods and Sonic Drive-Ins have also committed for the 2016 season. The University of Kansas Hospital will also remain the Royals’ official healthcare provider.
The club also announced new partnerships with Chick-fil-A, Creighton University, Flowers Baking Co., Old Dominion Freight Line, Planet Fitness, Re/Max, Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center and Phillips 66.
The Royals are the defending MLB champions, having defeated the New York Mets in last year’s World Series. It began its 2016 campaign with a 4-3 victory over the Mets yesterday (Sunday).
