NFL American football franchise the Kansas City Chiefs has agreed a seven-year extension to its deal with major partner, US supermarket chain Hy-Vee.
The new agreement takes in the NFL seasons spanning 2017 to 2023. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, Hy-Vee will continue to organise promotions and competitions on gamedays, while its self-titled Hy-Vee Gate entrance at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium will also undergo a revamp.
In addition, the supermarket will continue to serve as the naming rights partner of the Chiefs Insider and Chiefs Kingdom television programmes.
“We enjoy being a part of the experience, and we look forward to sharing our new innovations and unique fan offerings with Chiefs fans and our customers,” Hy-Vee chairman Randy Edeker said. “We’re also proud to continue our efforts with the Chiefs outside the stadium by supporting residents in the greater Kansas City area who need our help most.”
Hy-Vee has been in partnership with the Chiefs since 2009 and has worked with the club on various community-based initiatives over the past seven years.
