Indian steel company JSW has extended its title sponsorship of the Professional Squash Association’s Indian Squash Circuit in a move that will lead to a near 100 per cent rise in prize money year-on-year.
The JSW Indian Squash Circuit made its debut on the PSA World Tour in 2014 and will return in 2015 with six tournaments set to take place across the country during September and October.
A circuit total of $120,000 (€109,000) comes courtesy of JSW’s continued support after it extended its partnership with the Indian Squash Circuit into a second year.
The Indian Squash Circuit begins in Mumbai on September 3, before two events in Mumbai and Kolkata, respectively on September 10-13 and September 24-27. The circuit comes to an end in Chennai on October 19-22.
“We are delighted that the Indian circuit has grown considerably following last year’s successful debut,” PSA chief executive Alex Gough said. “These events give young Indian players the platform to perform on the biggest stage and helps to promote the sport in the best possible way. JSW are once again providing valuable sponsorship to the event and we look forward to working with Ivy Sports again, whose staunch commitment to the Indian Circuit has enabled the events to prosper.”
