Spanish sportswear company Joma has made its first major entry into the handball market by agreeing a partnership with the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM).
The length of the deal was not disclosed but it is effective from 2018.
Joma will provide kit for Spain’s national handball teams as part of the agreement. The company will also supply equipment and training gear.
Alberto López, general manager of Joma, said: “For the brand to enter the world of handball with the Royal Spanish Handball Federation is a source of pride and is the best way to enter a sector in a powerful way and with a significant presence in the market.”
RFEBM president Francisco Blázquez added: “For the Royal Spanish Handball Federation it is a great leap in quality and quantity. We were looking for a makeover with a world-renowned brand.”
