Chinese Super League football club Jiangsu Suning has agreed a season-long sponsorship deal with smartphone manufacturer Nubia.
Under the agreement, the company’s branding will appear on the team’s playing jerseys during the 2016 CSL campaign. Jiangsu confirmed the deal would earn the club CNY150m (€20.8m/$23m).
Various marketing activities and product launches will be organised to promote the partnership, while the two parties will also engage in a range of football development programmes.
The announcement comes after Suning Commerce Group, which owns the club, acquired a 33.3 per cent stake in Nubia in December.
Jiangsu has grabbed the headlines in recent weeks following its high-profile dealings in the transfer market. Brazilian internationals Ramires and Alex Teixeira joined the club from English Premier League team Chelsea and Ukrainian Premier League side Shakhtar Donetsk respectively. The two deals were reportedly worth a combined total of £65m (€84.2m/$93.3m).
