Health care products manufacturer Polar Naturals has been named as the presenting sponsor of the 2017 edition of the International Table Tennis Federation’s Women’s World Cup.
Polar Naturals will also serve as the official health care product of the event, which runs from October 27-29 in Markham, Canada.
The ITTF agreed the deal with the Table Tennis Canada governing body. Polar Naturals is a Canadian brand.
Table Tennis Canada chief executive Tony Kiesenhofer said: “We understand that Polar Naturals has plans to expand its market in Asia – the extensive media and TV coverage of the Women’s World Cup in Asia will be a useful tool in this strategy. We are excited to have Polar naturals on board and will work hard to make the event a success for Polar Naturals and for our other sponsors.”
Chinese food products manufacturer Uncle Pop will serve as title sponsor of the tournament.
The event will feature 20 of the world’s best players, including continental champions. Four-time Women’s World Cup champion, Liu Shiwen of China, will be among the competitors, along with defending champion Miu Hirano (pictured) of Japan.
