French automotive manufacturer Renault has agreed a sponsorship deal with the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR), the country’s national governing body of rugby union.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that the deal came into effect ahead of the ongoing Six Nations national team contest, which began at the weekend and will run until March 18.
The company’s Renault Italy regional division will serve as an official sponsor of Italy’s national team.
In addition, Renault Italy will provide national team technical staff and other FIR officials with a selection of its vehicles.
Italy lost 33-7 to Wales in the team’s opening game of the 2017 Six Nations.
