ISL signs multiple deals ahead of debut season

The new Indian Super League franchise football competition has agreed deals with six sponsors and partners ahead of its inaugural season, which will begin on Sunday.

The Maruti Suzuki India division of Japanese automotive manufacturer Suzuki has agreed to become an associate sponsor of the ISL.

The PepsiCo India arm of multinational food and beverage corporation PepsiCo and sportswear company Puma have both signed up as official partners.

In addition, a trio India-based companies in the form of dairy cooperative Amul, business house Muthoot Group and pharmaceutical firm Dr Reddy's Nise Gel have also agreed to become official partners of the league.

The brands will now join motorcycle manufacturer Hero Motorcorp, which in July agreed a three-year to become title sponsor of the competition.

Meanwhile, ISL franchise Chennaiyin FC has announced that real estate developer Ozone Group will serve as its principal sponsor, according to the Times of India newspaper.

Under the deal, the terms of which were undisclosed, Ozone Group branding will appear on the front of players’ jerseys.
