Banking and asset management group Investec has renewed its title sponsorship of UK horse-racing event the Derby Festival.
The new five-year contract will mean the partnership will run until 2026. Investec has sponsored the event since 2009.
Investec has also teamed up with Steinhoff International, owner of Poundland, in a move that will grant the low-cost retail chain naming rights to the free-to-enter area at Surrey's Epsom Downs Racecourse, where the Derby Festival is staged.
“All of Britain loves the Derby and as the people’s store, we’re looking forward to helping make the people’s hill at Epsom one of the best ways for the family to experience the Derby at Epsom,” Barry Williams, trading director at Poundland, said, according to UK newspaper The Guardian.
This year’s Derby Festival takes place on June 2-3.
