Italian Serie A football club Inter Milan has announced a 10-year extension to its kit partnership with Nike.
Having first joined forces in 1998, the agreement with the US sportswear giant takes the association between the two parties through the 25-year barrier with Inter stating the extension “sets a new benchmark for sports marketing in Italy."
Under the terms of the new deal, Inter said it will embark on a joint project with Nike to open specialised stores, along with creating a new strategy for the development and marketing of Inter-branded merchandise.
Financial terms of the new 10-year deal were not released but Italian media reports said it will be worth a basic €20m ($26.8m) per season to the club.
Nike will continue alongside shirt sponsor Pirelli as Inter’s main commercial partners.
