Infront to drive new stadium marketing plans under Freiburg deal extension

The Infront Sports & Media agency has agreed a long-term extension of its marketing partnership with SC Freiburg as the Bundesliga club prepares to make its return to the top division of German football.

Infront has partnered with Freiburg since the 2010-11 season and will continue to market the club’s main and shirt sponsorship package, the apparel package, stadium naming rights, hospitality and additional stadium advertising.

Infront said the new deal will have an increasing focus on Freiburg’s plans for a new 35,000-seat stadium to replace the Schwarzwald-Stadion, its 24,000-seat home since 1954.

Oliver Leki, managing director of finance, organisation and marketing at SC Freiburg, said: “Professional marketing is an essential component of our economic success. Therefore, we look forward to not only continuing our cooperation with Infront in the coming years but also to expanding it – specifically in respect to the new stadium and subsequent marketing and hospitality opportunities.”

Following relegation from the Bundesliga in 2014-15, Freiburg secured an immediate return by winning the 2015-16 2.Bundesliga title.
