Canadian energy company Imperial, in association with its Esso fuel brand, has become an official supplier to the Toronto 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
As the event’s official fuel and convenience store supplier, the company will fuel Toronto 2015’s fleet of Chevrolet vehicles, as well as all official buses and generators.
The deal marks the first time that Imperial has sponsored a major international multi-sport event in Canada, although the company did sponsor the 2011 International Association of Athletics Federations World Championships in Edmonton.
“Imperial and its local Esso retail stations are well-known for supporting amateur sport at the grassroots level in communities across Canada, and they have deep roots in Ontario,” Toronto 2015 organising committee chief executive Saäd Rafi said.
Other commercial partners of the Games include lead partner CIBC; premier partners Atos, Chevrolet Canada, Cisco, Live Nation Entertainment, and Loblaw Companies Limited; opening ceremony creative partner Cirque du Soleil; official suppliers Allstream, Beanfield Metroconnect, Coca-Cola, Pattison Outdoor Advertising, Fuse Marketing Group, McKesson Canada, Molson Coors, Royal Canadian Mint, Scalar, Schenker of Canada Ltd., Siemens Canada, Toronto Pearson International Airport and the Toronto Star, and official broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada.
