Outdoor communications specialist Icom has entered into a partnership with the International Sailing Federation.
The tie-up will focus upon the development of youth sailing, namely the ISAF Connect to Sailing programme to which Icom will serve as a performance partner. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Connect to Sailing aims to revitalise grass roots participation in all categories of sailing outside of the ISAF’s elite competitions by bringing together organisations involved in the sport’s administration at a national level.
It cites evidence that participation in sailing worldwide is in decline and the age of active participants increasing.
