English Super League rugby league club Hull Kingston Rovers has named Motordepot Car Supermarket as its new main shirt sponsor.
The agreement covers the 2019 season, although the car supermarket will also serve as Rovers’ shirt sponsor during the cross-city derby match against Hull FC on May 20. The match will form part of Super League’s Magic Weekend at Newcastle’s St James’ Park stadium.
Motordepot has an existing relationship with the club, having previously served as a back-of-shirt and player sponsor. It has also supplied cars for Rovers players in the past.
As part of the new deal, a series of competitions will be launched in the coming weeks, with fans to be given the chance to win Magic Weekend tickets and a chauffeur driven service to Newcastle. Fans will also be able to win signed charity shirts featuring the Motordepot branding.
Motordepot managing director Steve Butterley said: “Becoming the main shirt sponsor is a significant step for Motordepot as a brand and we’re delighted to be working side by side with Rovers to both increase our own profile amongst rugby league fans and help Rovers increase their reach amongst our national customer base.
“There are huge positives for both organisations to gain from this partnership, creating great opportunities not just for Hull Kingston Rovers fans, but for rugby league supporters across the UK.”
