Online gambling company Ope Sports has agreed a multi-year deal to become the main shirt sponsor of newly-promoted English Premier League football club Huddersfield Town.
Ope Sports branding will appear on the front of Huddersfield’s playing shirts from the 2017-18 season, the West Yorkshire club’s first in the English top flight in 45 years.
Ope Sports will also benefit from a presence on LED pitchside advertising boards and various other surfaces inside the team’s Kirklees Stadium. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Huddersfield said it represents a record agreement for the club.
Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle, said: “The growth of our international fanbase since promotion and the Premier League makes Ope Sports an attractive partner for our club, and our growing reach around world provides Ope Sports with an ideal platform to continue its own growth.”
Earlier this month, Huddersfield also signed a shirt-sleeve sponsorship deal with legal services company Pure Business Global.
Pure has served as the club’s main shirt sponsor for the past two seasons but its branding will now feature on the left arm of the team’s shirts. Pure’s current four-year deal with the club expires in 2019.
