Japanese automotive manufacturer Honda has extended its partnership with the Giro d’Italia for the 2017 edition of the cycling race, which began today (Friday).
According to various reports in the Italian media, Honda will serve as the official auto and motorcycle sponsor of the event.
Honda will also provide 130 of its vehicles for Giro officials and competing teams to use throughout the race.
In addition, Honda will work Giro organisers on various initiatives, such as using one of its CR-V models as a ‘VIP Car’, where fans travel alongside the riders and follow the action up-close.
The 2017 Giro d’Italia will run until May 28.
