Heineken has opted to extend its partnership with the Dutch Olympic Committee*Dutch Sports Federation (NOC*NSF) until the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The Dutch brewing firm will continue the tradition of hosting its Holland Heineken House at Olympic events throughout the deal – an initiative that stretches back to 1992, offering Dutch visitors a base and meeting point at the Games.
The first of these houses under the extended deal will be based on the edge of the Olympic Park for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
As well as allowing visitors to keep up to date with the progress of Dutch athletes throughout the day, the houses also offer dining facilities, meeting rooms, media services, and sponsor and athlete facilities – in addition to information and amenities for the NOC*NSF.
A new logo has also been designed for the Holland Heineken House to mark the extension of the long-running partnership.
Philip de Ridder, Heineken Netherlands chief executive officer, said: “The house has become part of our Heineken roots and a ‘home away from home’ for many during the Games.”
