Hockey India mines partnership for World League Final

Hockey India, the body that governs the sport in the country, has named Coal India Limited and its subsidiary company South Eastern Coalfields as official partners of the upcoming men’s Hockey World League Final event, which begins next month.

This year’s men’s Hockey World League Final will take place from November 27 until December 6 in Raipur. Argentina, Great Britain, Canada, Belgium, Australia and Germany are set to compete alongside the host nation.

Hockey India president Narinder Dhruv Batra said: “It (the deal) reinforces my faith that the sport is not going unnoticed in India and both the private and public bodies are equally keen to help the growth of hockey in the country.”
