Hellas Verona cashes in with e-commerce company

Italian Serie A football club Hellas Verona has agreed a partnership with e-commerce company Jetcoin.

The club aims to enhance its fan engagement through the use of Jetcoin’s digital currency services and applications. The length of the deal was not disclosed.

As part of the agreement, Jetcoin’s branding will appear on Verona’s jerseys, around its Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi home arena and on the club’s official website.

Jetcoin will also help organise the club’s end-of-season tour of Asia in May 2016.

“After weeks of strategic discussions with Jetcoin, we have full confidence in their solutions and that is why we are accepting jetcoins as a payment for club sponsorship,” Giovanni Gardini, general manager of Hellas Verona, said.

Jetcoin chief executive Eric Alexandre added: “(Hellas Verona) have the sixth largest football fanbase in Italy and I'm confident this collaboration will bring a new level of excitement and engagement for Hellas Verona fans. Hellas Verona understands very well the need to implement new tech solutions to bring unique value propositions to their digital fanbase.”
