South African beer brand Hansa Pilsener has sealed sponsorship deals with English Premier League football teams Manchester City and Arsenal.
Hansa Pilsener becomes Manchester City’s official beer partner in South Africa under a three-year agreement. The length of the brewer’s deal with Arsenal was not disclosed, although it also applies to the South African market.
Several City players are set to star in television adverts for the beer in the region, while Hansa Pilsener gains the rights to use the club’s crest and player imagery in marketing campaigns.
Hansa has sole rights within South Africa to target Arsenal supporters through the team’s digital media channels, with players set to feature in bespoke marketing activity. Fans of both clubs will have the opportunity to win exclusive experiences, including tickets to home matches.
Premier League champion Manchester City and FA Cup holder Arsenal meet in the FA Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday – the traditional curtain-raiser to the English football season.
