Hyundai Marine and Fire Insurance has signed up as a sponsor of the 2015 Gwangju Universiade in South Korea.
The company, which also worked with football’s 2002 Fifa World Cup in South Korea and Japan, will provide insurance services for the event, which features university athletes.
“The Gwangju Universiade Organising Committee is taking precautions and safety measures seriously to deliver a safe and sound Universiade for the 20,000 participants from 170 countries visiting Gwangju next year,” the organising committee’s secretary general, Kim Yoon-suk, said.
The company’s chief executive, Park Chan Jong, added: “Hyundai M&F Insurance is proud to sponsor another international sport event held in Korea. We will do our best to quickly and efficiently respond to emergencies for a safe and successful event.”
