Rugby footwear and apparel company XBlades has struck a deal to become the new official kit partner of English Premiership rugby union club Gloucester.
Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, it was confirmed that the partnership will begin in the 2015-16 season.
Under the agreement, XBlades will design, manufacture and supply the team with all of its home, change and European playing kits. XBlades will also provide a range of leisure and training apparel.
XBlades already has a presence at the Premiership club through its footwear partnership with a number of Gloucester players such as Rob Cook, Richard Hibbard and Jonny May.
The agreement comes after Gloucester announced earlier this month that Mitsubishi Motors, the automotive manufacturing arm of Japan’s Mitsubishi Group, is to become the new main partner of the team. Under the three-year deal, which runs from 2015-16 to 2017-18, Mitsubishi branding will appear on the front of players’ jerseys.
