The Ghana Football Association has extended its partnership with German sportswear giant Puma.
Terms of the new contract were not disclosed with the two parties stating Puma will continue as technical supplier and official partner to the GFA for a “further long term.”
Puma holds partnerships with a number of national football bodies in Africa, with its association with the GFA stretching back to 2005.
Christian Voigt, Puma’s senior head of sports marketing, said: “African football is important to Puma, and the 10 years of partnership we have enjoyed with the GFA have seen some great moments – none more so than the Black Stars being a kick away from becoming the first African team to reach a World Cup semi-final, four years ago. The appetite and passion for football in Ghana is infectious, and this wonderful spirit has endeared the national team to the world.”
The deal has been signed ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Equatorial Guinea on Saturday. Ghana has been drawn in Group C alongside Algeria, Senegal and South Africa.
