The Geelong Cats AFL Aussie rules football club has entered into a partnership with fashion brand, the Cotton on Group.
The three-year deal covers the 2017 to 2019 seasons and names the Cotton on Group as the Cats’ official on and off-field apparel sponsor.
Under the agreement, the company will supply a range of 27 items, including apparel for players and officials and supporter merchandise.
Cats players worked with the Cotton on Group to develop the on-field apparel, which features compression technology, moisture management and odour control.
From next year, a ‘patty pocket’ will also be added to the team’s playing shorts. The feature is named after Cats player Patrick Dangerfield (pictured), who requested somewhere to store his mouthguard while lining up a goal during games.
The Geelong Cats finished the 2016 regular season in second place before being defeated by Sydney at the preliminary finals stage of the end-of-season series last month.
