Russian energy company Gazprom has become the latest Uefa Champions League partner to renew its sponsorship of the European club football competition.
Gazprom’s new three-year deal with Uefa, football’s European governing body, covers the 2018-19 to 2020-21 seasons of the Champions League.
The agreement also includes sponsorship of the Uefa Super Cup, the annual match between the winners of the previous season’s Champions League and Europa League.
Gazprom first partnered with the Champions League in 2012. It joins Mastercard, PepsiCo, Heineken and Nissan in renewing sponsorship of the competition for the three-year period spanning the 2018-19 to 2020-21 seasons.
Banking group Santander in November became the latest sponsor of the tournament through a deal that covers the same three-year cycle.
