PepsiCo-owned isotonic drinks brand Gatorade has extended its sponsorship deal with South American club football competition the Copa Libertadores.
Gatorade will sponsor the 2017 Copa Libertadores, marking the sixth consecutive year it has backed the tournament.
Gatorade will provide its products to players during the competition, while it will also activate promotions for fans.
The agreement is the latest deal brokered by the IMG agency. IMG was last month appointed by the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) to market the sponsorship rights to the competition for 2017 and 2018. IMG is marketing both partner and supplier-level categories.
Dutch brewery Amstel last week agreed a four-year deal to sponsor the Copa Libertadores across its 2017 to 2020 seasons.
