Fluminense brings in Viton 44 to replace Unimed

Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club Fluminense has moved swiftly to replace outgoing main sponsor Unimed by signing a new agreement with Brazilian soft drinks producer Viton 44.

The deal with Viton 44 will run for two years, from 2014-15 to 2015-16, and will include shirt sponsorship rights.

The president of Fluminense, Peter Siemsen, said that he had “no doubt that the partnership with Unimed was worth it,” but added that the decision to terminate the contract was down to the medical services company.

Reports of Unimed curtailing the agreement first emerged late on Wednesday.

Siemsen added that a range of Viton 44 drinks brands would receive exposure during the partnership.
