German logistics firm DB Schenker has extended its partnership with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
The new four-year deal will run until 2021. DB Schenker will continue to serve as the FIVB’s official logistics partner.
Under the extended agreement, the company’s DB SCHENKERsportsevents division will continue to be responsible for the planning, organisation, coordination and execution of all transport matters for volleyball and beach volleyball events around the world.
Events covered by the partnership include the Volleyball and Beach Volleyball World Championships, as well as the World League, World Grand Prix and World Tour Finals.
FIVB president Ary Graça said: “I am glad that we have agreed to continue this strong partnership, as we are preparing for several mega-events such as the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in 2017 and 2019, the FIVB Men's and Women's Volleyball World Championships in 2018 and, of course, the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
"Thanks to the well-organised logistics delivered by DB Schenker, the FIVB has optimised its service, saved time and reduced the costs for everyone involved."
The two parties first teamed up in 2014.
