International Ski Federation (FIS) president Gian Franco Kasper has made it a priority of the governing body to secure sponsorship deals for all its showpiece competitions.
In a Q&A session ahead of the upcoming FIS Congress in Cancun, Mexico, Kasper (pictured) addressed future challenges and goals for the federation, stating sponsorship and marketing would become a “high priority” in the near future.
“On the marketing side, the Alpine and Nordic disciplines enjoy long-term commitments from loyal sponsors such as Audi, Longines and Viessmann,” he said. “But it is time to get major sponsors for all of our World Cup series and disciplines. This will be a high priority for FIS in the lead-up to the 2018 Olympic winter Games in Korea.”
