Norwegian retail cooperative Coop has agreed a deal to become a main partner of the Eliteserien, the top tier of domestic football.
Coop will serve as a main partner of the Eliteserien alongside telecommunications company Altibox, which signed a top-tier partnership with the league in March.
Coop’s three-year deal will run until 2020 and includes the option of a further two years. Coop will also sponsor the OBOS-ligaen, Norway’s second tier, and Norsk Toppfotball.
Coop chief executive Geir Inge Stokke said: “Coop offers its customers attractive benefits and an important part of the agreement is to expand with attractive discounts on tickets. We are working on the details of this, but the goal is to make football more accessible for all our customers. We will also continue working on various projects that strengthen recreational sports.”
