Airport retailer Dubai Duty Free has renewed its partnership with the Women’s Tennis Association.
Dubai Duty Free will continue to serve as one of the WTA’s premier sponsors under the terms of the extension, the length of which was not disclosed.
As part of the agreement, Dubai Duty Free will retain presenting sponsorship rights to the WTA’s Player Ambassador Programme, which will continue to be supported by Caroline Wozniacki (pictured) of Denmark.
China’s Zhang Shuai will also be introduced to the programme, representing Dubai Duty Free’s focus on the country and leveraging WTA’s extensive exposure and reach in the region.
Dubai Duty Free will also continue to support the end-of-year World No.1 singles and doubles awards.
Dubai Duty Free began sponsoring the WTA in 2004. The company is also the owner, organiser and title sponsor of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, an equal prize money Premier tournament on the WTA calendar. It will continue as one of four top-tier global premier partners alongside iQIYI, SAP and USANA.
