Drone racing organisation DR1 Racing has entered into a partnership with children’s entertainment company Spin Master.
As part of the agreement, Spin Master’s Air Hogs brand of remote control vehicles will have a presence in all three of the DR1 Racing series in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Air Hogs will serve as the presenting partner for the DR1 Micro Drone Racing Series, which will debut in 2017.
The series will be shown by international sports broadcaster Eurosport, which recently partnered with DR1 Racing, and via the Twitch.tv streaming service.
DR1 Racing pilots have also featured in a TV commercial that showcases the new Air Hogs Helix Race Drone.
DR1 Racing and Spin Master will work on other projects to raise the profile of the sport.
“Air Hogs is the perfect brand and partner to help validate this emerging sport,” Brad Foxhoven, DR1 Racing's founder, said. “We are excited about how this partnership will provide fans and aspiring pilots a way to engage with the sport.”
