DHL delivers Indian Super League extension

Global logistics company DHL has renewed its sponsorship of the Indian Super League club football competition.

The new one-year deal will cover the 2017-18 ISL season, which gets underway on Friday. DHL serves as a second-tier associate sponsor alongside Maruti Suzuki.

DHL will launch an interactive marketing campaign to promote the partnership. DHL serves as the league’s official match ball partner and also sponsors the DHL Winning Pass award, which is given to the leading assist-maker in each game and over the course of the season.

The ISL has expanded to 10 teams for the 2017-18 season, with new clubs Jamshedpur and Bengaluru having entered the competition.

R.S. Subramanian, country manager for DHL Express in India, told Indian newspaper the Economic Times: “ISL has grown to be an integral part of the country's sporting calendar. With our shared passion for football at DHL, we see this partnership getting stronger each year.

“The increase in the number of games this season gives us greater opportunity to engage with our audiences on and off-ground for an even longer period of time. We have brand engagements planned, including an upcoming 360-degree brand campaign.”
