Global logistics giant DHL has agreed a deal to partner the Chinese Super League, the country’s top football division.
The partnership commences immediately and runs through 2017. Financial terms were not disclosed but the CSL and DHL described it as a “major” sponsorship package.
DHL will engage in new marketing activities to interact with Chinese customers and employees. As part of the agreement, DHL’s branding will appear in stadiums throughout the CSL.
Jerry Hsu, chief executive of DHL Express Asia Pacific, said: “As the nation's premier league, the Chinese Football Association Super League has been steadily developing in recent years – its viewership around the country has reached a record high. Thirty-four years ago, DHL was the first international express company to operate in China and we have grown in tandem with the country's remarkable development. This sponsorship marks our continued commitment to the market, our partners and customers.”
