Asian financial services group DBS has agreed a naming rights sponsorship deal for the International Premier Tennis League’s Singapore Slammers franchise.
Singapore Slammers boasts tennis stars including Serena Williams, Andre Agassi and Lleyton Hewitt among its roster and will compete against rival teams from India, the Philippines and the UAE in the inaugural edition of the IPTL.
The Singapore leg of the IPTL takes place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from December 2-4, with players competing over two three-hour segments across three days under the tournament’s team format.
IPTL founder and managing director Mahesh Bhupathi said: “One of the ultimate objectives of the IPTL is to use the league’s unique format to grow the game of tennis around the world and to attract new fans and players into the game. Having DBS involved as one of the principal partners will certainly take us a step closer to achieving that goal.”
