UK sportswear manufacturer Umbro has signed a deal to become the new kit partner of Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club Cruzeiro.
The two parties have agreed a four-year deal, which will cover the 2016 to 2019 seasons. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
Umbro replaces sporting apparel manufacturer Penalty as Cruzeiro’s kit partner.
“Entering into this partnership with Cruzeiro is a great opportunity to strengthen and gain space, not only in the mining state, but across the country,” Eduardo Dal Pogetto, manager of sports marketing at Grupo Dass, which manages Umbro’s operations in Brazil, said.
The club’s new Umbro-branded kit will be worn for the first time during its season-opening game against Coritiba next month. An exact date for the fixture has not been announced.
