Corinthians has agreed a shirt sponsorship deal with investment firm Apollo Sports Capital, while the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club has also entered into a partnership with Spanish brewery Estrella Galicia.
Brazilian newspaper Folha De S.Paulo said Apollo has agreed a deal to become the club’s back-of-shirt sponsor for the three-year period covering the 2017 to 2019 seasons. The deal, which Folha said would be confirmed at some point this week, is reportedly worth R$10m (€2.8m/$3.1m) a year.
“We found Apollo’s proposition very interesting,” Corinthians’ marketing manager Gustavo Herbetta said. “It comes on to the market with ideas that are consistent with what we believe is the ideal delivery for the advertiser.”
Folha’s report added that Apollo is in talks with fellow Serie A teams Internacional and Flamengo over possible sponsorship deals.
Meanwhile, Estrella Galicia has signed on as the official beer of the club. The initial three-year deal covers the 2017 to 2019 seasons. Estrella’s non-alcoholic beer brand, EG 0.0, will receive exposure on Corinthians’ training wear as part of the deal.
Estrella’s various products, including water brands Cabreiroá e Magma and Cabreiroá, will receive promotion during club press conferences, while fan activations will also be launched.
The company has a strong presence in the football and motorsport marketplace, but its deal with Corinthians marks its first with a Brazilian football club.
