Dutch brewery Amstel has agreed a deal to sponsor the Copa Libertadores, Latin America’s premier club football knockout competition.
The four-year deal will cover the 2017 to 2020 Copa Libertadores seasons.
Amstel becomes the first company to link up with the Copa Libertadores since the IMG agency was last month appointed to market the sponsorship rights to the competition for 2017 and 2018. IMG is marketing both partner and supplier-level categories.
The group stage of this season’s Copa Libertadores got underway yesterday (Tuesday). Colombian club Atlético Nacional won last year’s competition.
