Panamanian airline Copa Airlines has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club São Paulo ahead of the new season.
The new deal will cover the 2016 campaign and will run until April 2017. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
Under the new agreement, Copa Airlines’ branding will appear on the club’s playing jerseys 15 times over the course of the season.
The airline has been provisionally named the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor, although it will be moved to another area of the jersey should São Paulo sign another major partner. The club has been without a permanent front-of-shirt sponsor since 2014, when its partnership with Japanese conglomerate Toshiba came to an end.
Copa Airlines has flown São Paulo’s players and staff to some of its Copa Libertadores matches this year.
The club begins its 2016 season with an away match at Botafogo on Sunday.
