Financial services company Transamerica has extended its shirt sponsorship agreement with Major League Soccer franchise the Colorado Rapids.
The two parties have agreed a three-season extension to their existing deal, which was due to expire at the end of the 2016 MLS campaign. The new agreement will run until the end of the 2019 season.
Financial terms of the deal, which was brokered by the Denver-based Impression Sports & Entertainment agency, were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Transamerica will retain its presence on Colorado’s home and away playing jerseys and will also continue to receive brand exposure at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, the club’s home ground.
David Macmillan, chief marketing officer for Transamerica, said: “Not only do we believe in what the Rapids are building as a franchise, but we are thrilled to work with an organisation that supports thousands of youth soccer players and their families across the country, and one that is so active in improving its local community.
“This aligns perfectly with Transamerica’s passion for the wellbeing of our customers and their communities.”
Transamerica first teamed up with the Rapids in March last year at the start of the 2015 MLS season.
