Leading Chilean football club Colo-Colo has announced a five-year deal for US sportswear brand Under Armour to supply its kit and training apparel.
Colo-Colo becomes the first South American football team to wear Under Armour, which has an established presence in the English Premier League through its five-year agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, which launched in July 2012.
The Under Armour Colo-Colo range will retail across Chile, including at the club’s Estadio Monumental home, south-east of the country’s capital Santiago in Macul, and online store.
Colo-Colo has never been relegated from the Chilean Primera Division since the team’s foundation in 1925. In this season’s Torneo Apertura, Colo-Colo finished eighth to miss out on a place in the group stage of the 2014 Copa Libertadores – South America’s premier club football competition.
