UK-based retail and commercial financial services provider the Co-Operative Bank has agreed a deal to serve as the headline sponsor of this year’s Great CityGames urban athletics event in Manchester.
The free-to-attend event, which is in its eighth year, features athletes competing in contests within various urban environments.
This year’s event on May 20 will comprise contests on the Great CityGames track in the Deansgate area of Manchester and at a purpose-built athletics arena in the city centre.
British long-jumper and reigning Olympic champion Greg Rutherford (pictured) and Dutch sprinter Dafne Schippers are among the athletes due to participate.
The Great CityGames is owned and organised by the Great Run Company, which also operates a series of other annual and seasonal sports events across the UK.
