ClipperTelemed+ has been named as a team sponsor for the 2015-16 edition of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
Clipper Ventures, the operating body of the race, and the Praxes Medical Group announced ClipperTelemed+ as a joint venture last December. The new service will provide fast emergency and general medical support from its doctors to people on yachts and commercial ships around the world.
Praxes is the global medical emergency support partner of the Clipper Race.
John Hockin, vice-president of marketing for Praxes, said: “ClipperTelemed+ is an innovative concept built on our experience of working with the Clipper Race. The race is the perfect marketing platform and we’re delighted for Praxes to continue as the official global medical support partner alongside the new joint venture.”
ClipperTelemed+ will also provide custom medical kits and equipment as part of its remote marine medical support service, which will be officially launched in April.
