Chevrolet has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) to become an official partner of the governing body.
The deal will further strengthen the automotive company’s involvement in the grassroots Chevy Youth Soccer programme, which comprises nearly 1,000 dealers and 850,000 youths throughout the US. Chevrolet signed the new sponsorship agreement with Soccer United Marketing, the commercial partner of U.S. Soccer.
Sunil Gulati, U.S. Soccer president, said: “We are looking forward to working closely with such a committed and supportive company across all of our national teams, especially our youth national teams and development academy.”
Last year, Chevrolet announced a deal that made it the official automotive partner of Manchester United. Beginning in 2014, the Chevrolet brand will become the English Premier League champion’s new shirt sponsor in a seven-year deal worth $559m (€430m).
Through its founding sponsorship of One World Futbol Project, Chevrolet is also donating 1.5 million virtually indestructible One World Futbols to youth in war-stricken zones, refugee camps, disaster areas, and underprivileged communities around the world. The One World Futbol never goes flat and never needs a pump, even when punctured.
